Webinar: Getting Your SaaS Systems to Talk with Microsoft Fabric
Getting Your SaaS Systems to Talk with Fabric: Building a Medallion Master Data Management Architecture
This is Session 1 of our 6-part Microsoft Fabric Summer Webinar Series. AI is only as good as the data behind it, and this series is designed to fix that, one architectural layer at a time. See the full 6-part series lineup and the thread that ties it all together.
Who this session is for:
This session is designed for IT leaders, data architects, Microsoft 365 admins, and integration specialists responsible for connecting line-of-business systems and making enterprise data trustworthy.
If your organization is facing any of these, this session is for you:
- Every department runs a different system (Finance, Sales, Ops, HR), and nobody has the full picture.
- SaaS tools with limited integration options and outdated security models.
- Staff, customer, or financial data are scattered across these different systems, often with conflicting values.
- Leadership can't trust the numbers because there's no agreed-upon source of truth.
- Data feels stale, duplicated, or out of sync.
- You're ready to power AI Search, Power BI, and Copilot, but the data underneath isn't there yet.
What this session is about:
Every department runs on its own system: Finance has its platform, Sales has its CRM, Operations has its ERP, and HR has its HRIS. They're packed with valuable data, but they rarely talk to each other, and many are SaaS tools with clunky integrations or outdated security.
In this session, we'll show you how to connect them using a Medallion Master Data Management approach in Microsoft Fabric. Fabric has many components. We'll focus on Pipelines, Notebooks, and Dataflows as our primary components.
Your SaaS systems are ready to connect and share data. Security is important, and we'll deal with using Azure Key Vault and proper token management to access these systems. Fabric makes it possible, and by the end of this session, you'll know exactly how to set it up yourself.
What you will learn from this session:
In 45 minutes, you'll learn how to design a Medallion Master Data Management setup in Fabric that reads from the SaaS and custom systems your business already runs on.
You'll walk away knowing how to:
- Define the integration problem in your own environment and decide which systems own which fields.
- Build a bronze, silver, and gold medallion MDM structure in Fabric, with field-level rules that create a reliable golden record.
- Use Notebooks as a reusable read layer for SaaS systems like QuickBooks and HubSpot, including token management and OAuth for vendors that don't handle it well.
- Understand why the gold layer matters before plugging in AI Search, Power BI, and Copilot.
- Plan a scalable integration pattern you can reuse across every system, without rebuilding it for each entity.
You'll also get a sneak peek at Session 2, where we talk about managing this all through Azure DevOps and Git, and building pipelines to move the artifacts from dev to test and then production.
