Error While Adding User to a Group

While adding a user to an EUM Group, an error message might be displayed. There may be be several reasons why this occurs:

  1. The user is already a member of the group.
  2. The user could not be added to the SharePoint group associated with the EUM Group.

User Could Not Be Added to SharePoint Group Associated with EUM Group

This can happen due to a few reasons:

  1. The SharePoint site is not externally shared.
  2. The SharePoint Site Collection URL added to the EUM Group is not acceptable.
  3. The SharePoint Group added to the EUM Group has a typo.

SharePoint Site Not Externally Shared

For EUM to be able to add users to the SharePoint Group belonging to a SharePoint site, the SharePoint site should have external sharing turned on. To check this:

  1. Please login to the SharePoint Admin as an admin.
  2. Search for the concerned site.
  3. Click Sharing in the top menu.
  4. The External Sharing should be set to "Existing guests only".

SharePoint Site Collection URL Added to EUM Group Not Acceptable

The SharePoint Site Collection URL added to the EUM Group must be the URL to the site, and not to any page of the site.

SharePoint Group Added to EUM Group Has Typo

The SharePoint Group added to the EUM Group could have a typo, an extra space, or some formatting carried over from SharePoint if copied from there.
