Since 1948, Community Living Toronto has been a source of support for thousands of individuals with an intellectual disability searching for accessible and meaningful ways to live, learn, work and play in the community. Community Living Toronto is a recognized leader offering a full range of personalized support and services to people with an intellectual disability and their families. The Solution

Community Living Toronto engaged Envision IT to assist with the creation of a MOSS 2007 Intranet which serves 1,400 staff spread across 60 locations. Never having used an intranet before, there was a huge amount of information stored on multiple shared drives, and paper-based documentation that must be kept for 15 years. It was expected that SharePoint would reduce the amount of paper records generated, and the cost of storing them. Regional staff are able to easily collaborate on cases where this would have previously involved time-consuming shuffling back and forth. All staff access the intranet site through a single, secure gateway that maintains the same look and feel as the public website.

The Results

The Upgrade

Following the original implementation, Envision IT was involved in several upgrades over ensuing years, and completed the most recent Office 365 migration in 2019. Envision IT implemented an Office 365 Site/Teams provisioning process and is set to develop a Help System for custom forms and workflows.
